CABINVENTION
The Log Cabin has been a staple of construction and architecture for hundreds of years--but what more could it be? How can this pure design be reinvented to be more dynamic with the new technology we have and construction techniques we are capable of?
Cabinvention asks and attempts to answer these questions in a unique way, transforming the simple form of the log cabin into an elegant structure

ALL WORK CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH GAVIN KENDALL
In order to maintain a focus on the natural, the foundation is natural stacked stones, the walls are logs and the roof is thatch. Every aspect of the coming together of the project was designed out of natural materials, attempting to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible.
Cabinvention is the residence portion of a multi-program artists residency located just outside of Crestwood, Kentucky. The site for the project was located in the center of a 1,200 acre grass-fed beef farm. The natural aspect of the farm was a key point brought up by the curators of the artist residency.
